Default The Outline

Gentlemen,

I have been working on my book for 9 years.
All the 'words' are written, and but for arranging them,
and the table of contents,
making the words and the stories into 'a unit',
a book as it were...
I'm done.
{I know, I know,
the whole work is 'left to do'}
the creative part,
the 'putting together'
or 'building' of the 'book'.
{I was kidding}

I have a forum.
Rather it is a private story stash on a forum format.
I keep all my old stories there as I don't have a C.D. burner to preserve them if my computer crashes.
It's just a private story stash,
full of well... everything.

In order to begin ordering my book
and arranging the units of the book into chapters,
{short stories remember}
I started a 'table of contents' on paper then started a separate web site,
or file, for every subject,
of which I am trying to make sense of and to keep track of.

I have a forum based 'story stash' for each of these subjects:
And they are on a long list,
and I can access each individual one, instantly,
I can see them all, and it helps me think.

The letters, 'I spent a year writing'
{24 hours a day I worked on the letters}
to the District Attorney,
Texas Rangers who bust crooked cops, and departments.
Attorney General in Austin,
Houston office of the F.B.I. who investigates violation of the civil rights of disabled coma patients by corrupt municipal police departments,
which put 'five cops' in the pen for a total of 497.5 years.

My waking up from being in a five week coma six years before.
Hospital stories.
Coming home stories.
re-establishing my nural connetic links.
Learning to spell again,
write,
type,
cook,
shoot,
make knives,
brew homebrew,
and speak German,
just about everything.

Using 'private forum formats'
has really helped me to maintain order
in the massive amount of text I have at hand.
'I would highly recommend it'
to all y'all other world famous authors.

Thank you...

Gentlemen,

I have finished ordering the plethora of text I have been working on
for the last three years. I can access all the information on 'two pages' of URL's!
The Ebook is becoming a reality.
Now, with the subjects ordered 'by subject',
I can easily deal with the 'mass of text' as 'I build' the Ebook.

I realize there are a million ways to put together the information
into an interesting unit. One idea is to use the fact that about marketing the book 'Chicken soup for the soul'
the follow up's,
which were addressed to a much more narrow audience than the original,
sold vastly more copies than the original did.
Chicken soup for the Prisoner?
Chicken soup for the teenager?

My 'subject bin' is full of such diverse subjects as would appeal to three,
four or even five different groups of people.

V. & M. for old ladies?
V. & M. for 'Dog lovers' !
V. & M. for criminals?
V. & M. for Christians?
V. & M. for Coon Hunters?
V. & M. for Musicians
V. & M. for 'the Kitchen'?
V. & M. for Farmers?
V. & M. for Genius's?'

See, I could leave out all the stuff that old Ladies don't like,
and do the same to all the other audience's books.
I hear one must 'narrow the field' and my work is appealing 'to no one' now
because it is full of 'too many different, interests,

Classical music and coon hunting for example,
two of my favorite things in life,
but most coon hunters don't like classical music
and most classical musicians don't like to go coon hunting.
Hmmmm...

Anyway, I just wanted to let the readers know
about the interesting 'forum format' idea, for arranging subjects.
That is not to say 'each subject' will end up being a 'chapter',
but it could be. It does really help me access the text easily.
So that how ever I group the stories
it is much easier to do this way.

Thank you

Thanks for sharing your ideas about organization, Jack. When you're writing a book organization becomes tremendously important.

By the way -- there is something very soothing and engaging about your writing style.
