Gentlemen,

I don't like PDF.
I have heard that PDF is used for ebooks,
but I don't know why.
I would rather use a forum format,
as my book is made up of short stories.
A 'mile long story' with no chapters,
well, there are chapters but you only see the chapter when you get to it
and PDF seems to be 'a mile long story with no breaks',
a table of contents which is awkward to use,
and with no breaks, is unreadable.
One never knows where one is.

Let me demonstrate what I mean,
and I would like some feedback.
{Now, maybe I haven't learned how to use PDF}

In my 'story stash' are all my 100-110 stories,
5 pages of links to this story or that one...
They are listed like 'a table of contents' one can see them all
and pick one and go to it, and then come back to the index.
It's a collection of short stories, remember.
One could read the whole ebook if one wanted, beginning to end,
but it would be good for the reader to be able to pick the story
because 'women', 'non hunters', and most of the people
would find some of the stories uninteresting.
But then, some of the stories would be, to the same people,
very interesting.

People should be able to choose which stories they read.
They could avoid blood and gore and not have the story itself ruined by such.
The letters I wrote to the D.A. the Attorney General, the Texas Rangers, the F.B.I....
are very interesting and are 'the story' itself,
where I was murdered by two police departments after conspiring to do so.
{They left enough evidence 'to hang them 10 times'}
{They never dreamed anyone would care about me}

The 'assistant Chief' in charge of internal affairs
knew my Mother, Grandmother and Great Grand Mother by first name.
The Stallings lived in a house my Grandfather built during the depression with hand tools
{no electricity} for 20 acres of land,
and all he bought was nails.
He had to get the nails on credit as no one had any money.
Grandad cleared off 60 acres of land with a one man cross cut saw
and split the trees into boards with wedges and a hammer.
Built the house and the Stallings family still lives in the house.
'A historical monument'.
I met the grandfather when I was looking for a saddle mule.
The house is between my uncle Ray's 80 acres
and the Brimer's who I bought my horses and my mule from 25 years ago.

I have a 'story stash' on a 'forum format'.
I guess I am used to a forum format and not used to a PDF format.
It seems PDF is just a long number of pages and I have never seen a table of contents.
A forum format on the other hand is basically a table of contents
one can start at and go where one wants.
Know what I mean?

Gentlemen,

P.D.F is downloading now and by midnight it will be on my computer to try.
I have no idea what it is, but it is a new 'software app' to learn.
I am familiar with word, but am 'not' familiar with html.
All of my stories are written in word.
But sounds like P.D.F is about 'it' for printing out an ebook.
{I still like word}
The weather will be below feeezing for a few days this week
so writing and feeding the fire in my wood stove
sounds like a good way to spend the week.
I'll download P.D.F and try to use it.
I'm still looking for an example of a P.D.F ebook.

{I have downloded 'Adobe 8' and 'Adobe 813' but don't know how to use them}
All I want to do is copy my stories which are in 'word' and copy them in P.D.F.
I am about ready to buy a copy of the new adobe #9,
I can't figure out how to use 8, or 813.
It seems Adobe 8 and 813 are 'readers'
and what I need is a 'writer'.
What version of Adobe do y'all use to make P.D.F. documents?
And isn't there an older {free} version?

Later...
