I have had this idea for a book for a while but I can't seem to start it...



I was thinking of writing a book about a teenager who gets his hands on a certain item (I can't decide what yet) and is transported magically to a world with magic and etc. His only way home is to solve these series of riddles that lead him to the doorway home.
So what do you think?? What should I add and how should I start??

A very appealing idea -- one that I think teenage readers would enjoy. As a self-help author I lean toward books with a message, so I might think about his magic device as a symbol of some sort of experience or transition that teenagers actually go through. You might also go to social media sites to get an idea of common teenage themes.
